Rate Cap Research Due in Spring... 19th March 2004

Government appointed research consultants, Policis, are scheduled to report on the operation of satutory interest rate controls in Europe in the next few weeks. The report will then go to the DTI's Overindebtedness Advisory Group for comment, and onto Gerry Sutcliffe, Minister for Consumer Affairs at the DTI.

The Local Government Association and Church Action on Poverty, both supporters of the Debt on our Doorstep, now have seats on the advisory group although this remains dominated by creditor interests.
